English : Davao City = Dakbayan sa Dabaw = Lungsod ng Dabaw is the biggest city on Mindanao island - Philippines and the third most significant metropolitan area in the Philippines.
The city serves as the trade and industry center of Mindanao. Davao City is the largest city in the Philippines in land area. In 2011 it had an estimated population of 1.530.365 people,
making it the fourth-most-populous city in the Philippines. After Manila, Quezon City and Cebu City.
Davao City is divided into three congressional districts, which are subdivided into 11 administrative districts with 182 barangays.
Davao City is 960 km = 600 miles southeast of Manila linear distance. The city is located in southeastern Mindanao, on the northwestern shore of Davao Gulf, opposite the island Samal.
Davao City's land has 2.444 square kilometers, is hilly in the west and slopes down to the southeastern shore.
Davao region is home of Mount Apo, with 3.412 metres = 11.194 feets, known as "the grandfather of Philippine mountains". This highest peak in the Philippines is located at the city's southwestern tip.
